Overview
Castlebar was built in 1879 for Mr Walter Lazenby, a wealthy businessman. The Lazenby family resided at Castlebar until 1932 before the house was purchased by the National Children’s Adoption Association. It later became the Princess Alice Nursing Training School.
In the 1960s the house became an LCC care home and then a private nursing home until 2021 when Dinardo Care and Supports Ltd. acquired the building.
